Ever since launching our platform, we’ve received numerous inquiries on opening up new data centre locations spanning throughout the globe. To answer some of the most frequent and vocal requests, today we are launching not one, but two new server locations: Amsterdam and Singapore.

Starting today all our customers will be able to choose to launch a container between three different regions: North and South America, Europe and the Asia-Pacific. Our new server locations will allow us to provide existing and future customers with greater access to the European and Asian markets and offer our container cloud infrastructure to the growing developer community in both regions.

I Amsterdam

A server location in Europe was in such a high demand by our users for several reasons: due to stricter EU regulations, European clients prefer to host their data on the continent, it’s often difficult for data to be moved outside and there are not many affordable local scalable cloud hosting providers. We chose Amsterdam as a starting point for our expansion for several reasons. First, its strategic geo location in the centre of the continent, which ensures good proximity to all European countries. Second and even more important, Amsterdam is one of the biggest tech hubs in Europe, providing exceptional connectivity from each country in Europe and the rest of the world, too. So, we’re excited to have our new Amsterdam facility to empower the growing European startup scene, giving developers from the region the benefit of experiencing much lower latency while having access to next-gen cloud technologies and premium features at an unmatched price.

Singapore and The Land Down Under

Deciding on our second datacenter location was pretty straight-forward, too. Singapore has arguably the most developed startup ecosystem in the Asia-Pacific region. It is the gathering point for startups and tech talent in the region and serves as a launchpad for local, and more often foreign, entrepreneurs to launch their businesses for the region (venture-capital investment in the tech sector in the city has soared with up to 60% in recent years). Hopefully our Singapore facility will open more opportunities for our existing clients to tap not only into the Asian, but the Australian and New Zealand booming tech scenes as well, since it offers perfect connectivity to the land down under as well. In turn, it will also allow tech professionals from both regions to take advantage of an affordable and scalable cloud hosting solution for their clients, apps and web projects.

For the fact-loving folks out there, much like our own network administrators, both facilities feature industry-leading technologies for maintaining optimal operating environmental control, redundant electrical systems and generators backed with enterprise-class UPS technology, and a wide range of advanced on and off-site security measures, such as biometrics, access control man traps, bullet proof lobbies and 24/7 human and video surveillance. Our admins take these so seriously, they had to personally fact-check all of the above by paying a visit. Too bad tight security and selfies don’t go too well together, because they could not even take a single picture to brag about, so we’ll take their word for it.

The new server locations are already open and you can spin up a new container in one of them by going to our server launch page.
